Second Saturday Simple Serve – February 14th RESCHEDULED TO FEBRUARY 28th 

This month, we’ll be serving Nathan and his family — and it’s a story you won’t soon forget.

Nathan had just finished cutting his grass, pulled his mower into the garage, shut the door, and went inside. A few minutes later, nearly a quarter of his home was engulfed in flames.

By God’s grace, Nathan and his family made it out safely — and God protected their home in a truly unique way. (Show up to hear the rest of that story.)

Just months earlier, Nathan and his wife had to make a difficult financial decision between childcare and homeowners insurance. As a result, at the time of the fire, their home was uninsured.

Nathan is a Young Life leader serving on the campus of the University of Cincinnati, and now, in addition to his full-time job, he’s had to add “general contractor” to his list of responsibilities. All while he and his family are living temporarily with family members.

That’s where we come in.

We’ll be working together to help get his family back into their home by:

• Installing insulation
• Laying hardwood flooring

If you’ve never done this kind of work before — that’s totally okay!

Come learn new skills, serve alongside others, and help a deserving family in our community. That’s what Masters of Disaster is all about.

Let’s show Nathan and his family they are not walking this road alone.

Here’s the plan:

Location: 8378 Frane Lane, Kenwood, OH 

- Coffee & donuts to kick off at 8AM

- Work projects are all indoors 

• Installing insulation
• Laying hardwood flooring

- Lunch provided after the work is done around NOON

What to bring: water bottle, camp chair, gloves, closed toe shoes, hearing & eye protection, your hand tools that are related to the work described above

We need hands-on volunteers—whether you are skilled or simply bring energy and encouragement, there’s a place for you on the team!
